Jan and Dean are typical teenagers until they are catapulted to fame by their “sun and surf” style. At the peak of their musical careers, life throws them a curve when a car accident leaves Jan paralyzed and unable to speak or sing. The duo struggles to re-establish their friendship and singing careers and, deciding to lip synch during their first live stage performance since the accident, the audience screams their disapproval when the playback machine fails. Jan manages to explain to them his disability and decides to try to sing live for them. The audience roars their approval and Jan and Dean finally hear the applause for which they’ve waited so long.
